Brent Marks caps Kings Royal with impressive charge from 16th to third

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (July 22, 2019) - It was a successful week for the ‘Myerstown Missile’ at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track, translating four Eldora Speedway starts against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series into a pair of top-ten performances, one of which during the richest winged sprint car event in the history of the sport.

Marks, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car, earned his first top-ten finish of the week during the #LetsRaceTwo make-up event on Wednesday evening, July 17. Bumping two spots at the finish, Marks climbed from 11th to finish eighth at the final checkers.

After finishing 13th and 15th, respectively, during the Jokers Wild and Knight Before the Kings Royal programs on July 18 & 19, Marks capped his weekend at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, with the ultimate performance; rallying from 16th to finish third during the $175,000-to-win Kings Royal on Saturday, July 20. The jaw-dropping performance, which ended with Marks pressuring Logan Schuchart for second during the closing circuits, was solid enough to clinch the evening’s Hard Charger Award for advancing the most positions.

“Man, that was fun. That surface on Saturday was unbelievable and it really played into our favor. You could ride the cushion to build momentum, but you could also drive through the center, as well as the bottom, to get around race cars,” Brent Marks explained, who is currently 11th in the World of Outlaws championship standings. “Hats off to this entire team. They work hard and they never give up. They gave me a great car at Eldora all week. Our performance on Saturday really shows this team’s potential and I’m excited to see what the rest of the week has in store, especially with Williams Grove coming up quick.”

Brent Marks and Brent Marks Racing will continue their third, full year on the road with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series with three events in five days, first visiting Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania, for the $25,000-to-win Silver Cup on Tuesday, July 23.

Following his visit to Lernerville, Marks will have the opportunity to become reacquainted with Williams Grove Speedway, anxious to take-on his fellow World of Outlaws, as well as the infamous Pennsylvania Posse, during the two-day Summer Nationals on July 26 & 27. The weekend will be headlined with a $20,000 top prize on Saturday night.
