Millwood sixth in Clay by the Bay finale at East Bay Raceway Park

Continuing his Speedweeks trek, Tyler Millwood made it to East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Fla.) on Thursday afternoon for the first night of the Clay by the Bay.

Among 91 Crate Racin' USA entries, Millwood qualified a disappointing 18th-fastest in his group but made up for it in the 25-lap prelim by charging forward to a podium position in third behind Ashton Winger and Matt Henderson.

For Friday's second 25-lap preliminary feature, Tyler rolled off from the fifth-row and once again marched through the field to a runner-up finish. Millwood notched his second podium of the weekend behind Ashton Winger while Nevin Gainey completed the Top-3.

Locked into the $5,000-to-win finale on the third-row, Millwood slipped back to ninth in the beginning stages but rallied to finish just outside the Top-5 in sixth.

Tyler Millwood currently rides runner-up in the Crate Racin' USA Winter Series point standings.
