Still Digging

Friday nights event at Creek County Speedway were rained out which left us racing only at Gator Motorplex this weekend. Cody showed last night though at Gator Motorplex that he is starting to understand the racing line more and is starting to show more confidence in his car. In the heat race he drew the 7th starting position and was able to stay patient and race his way up to a 4th place finish and was knocking on 3rd places door when the checkers came out. This resulted in him starting in the 3rd position for the feature. Upon the drop of the green flag ¾ of the way down the front straight a car (unable to see Cody) came down into his line and without any time to react he tire hopped the car. By the time his car landed and settled Cody was in turn 1 and he tried to make it turn and stay in his line which resulted in him spinning out and going to the rear of the field. He was able to race to 6th early in the feature but would never advance any higher than there. Per the video’s there were only 4 car length at the end of the race between 4th to 6th but Cody’s car was just missing that last little bit to get him up there. Overall Cody and FKR Motorpsorts is very pleased with the way the weekend went and wants to thank everyone for the support and well wishes as we leave Texas and head to race in Kansas next weekend at Caney Valley Speedway and then attend Micro Mayhem June 12th-15th in Garden City, KS. We couldn’t think of a better way to spend a vacation then at the race track. Even though lady luck hasn’t been on our side in the Feature events these past few weeks hopefully we can have it all turned around for us when we return to Texas on June 22nd at Gulfcoast Speedway with the EMSA Series.
A special thank you goes out to C&J Energy, Casedhole Solutions, Frank Henry Equipment, MPM, Team 91 Motorsports, and Driver Websites for your support and backing of a young driver who was a complete unknown in this sport 3 months ago. Also thank you to all the friends, family and fans that support us week in and week out. Cody knows he is where he needs to be and is working very hard to get the monkey off his back and accomplish his goal of a Top 3 finish by mid-season for all of you.
