Long Weekend!!!!

Cody Freeman competed in the Texas Triple Crown with the EMSA racing series this past weekend. Friday night took him to the Heart of Texas Speedway in Waco, TX. Being the first time the team had ever been to the track we were pleased overall. The car was not where we all would have liked it to have been for the heat race resulting in an 11th place starting position for the feature. The car was performing much better in the feature and Cody was moving up the field when a car spun in front of him resulting in him making a hard “T-Bone” hit on the car. He had almost no time to slow his speed but fortunately when he made contact with the other car he hit hard enough to spin the cars in opposite directions. Cody found his self restarting in the 12th position after the caution with only a few laps left. He stayed calm and drove as hard as he could resulting in him finishing in the 8th position.

Cody took the track Saturday night at Gator Motorplex for the second night of the Triple Crown. After having carburetor issues in the first heat Cody found himself starting 10th for the feature. He was running good and was on the bottom of the track going into turn 3 to take over the 8th position when his right front shock became disconnected from his axle. Being in a coil over configuration this left him with no suspension going into the turn. He managed to save the car and safely pull it to the infield for a DNF.

Cody and the team went into Sunday’s third day at Gulf Coast Speedway in Alvin, TX a little disappointed and beaten up from the previous two nights but Cody was determined to have a strong run. He drove hard and was extremely happy with his car and it showed with a 2nd place finish in the first heat. In heat 2 he made a last ditch effort running the top of the track through turns 3 and 4 coming for the checkers making the pass for 3rd down the front straight away. His efforts were rewarded by starting him in the 4th position for the 30 lap feature. Cody drove as hard as he could for the entire race and closed the weekend out with a 4th place finish. Afterwards he told me that mid race his car was so tight that it was all he could do to steer the car. It showed as he did start missing his marks late in the race. Overall the team is very happy with Cody and his efforts over the weekend and we will continue to strive and get him a car that handles more to his liking.

Thanks goes out to C&J Energy Services, Casedhole Solutions, Frank Henry Equipment, MPM, Team 91 Motorsports, and all our friends and family that have supported us throughout the year along this journey. With our season winding down I greatly appreciate your belief and trust in us.
