Macon podium for Justin Duty

Justin Duty and the Double Duty Motorsports team continued their pursuit of the MARS Late Model Championship title on Friday and Saturday. Duty turned in a pair of top-10 finishes with the series in Illinois, including one podium result.

On Friday, Duty competed in a 30-car field at Sycamore (Illinois) Speedway behind the wheel of his No. 15 First Class Septic Super Late Model. He grabbed fourth in his heat race at the 3/8-mile track, starting him 10th in the $5,000-to-win feature. He climbed three spots in the 40-lapper to finish seventh.

Twenty-three MARS Late Models were at the 1/5-mile Macon (Illinois) Speedway on Saturday for the 11th annual KerbyStrong. Duty set the second-quickest time overall in qualifying, then won his heat from the pole. He rolled off third to begin the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win A-Main and finished in the same position, rounding out the podium behind Ryan Unzicker and Jake Little. Steve Sheppard and Jason Feger finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Duty maintains the fifth spot in the MARS Late Model Championship point standings.
