John Duty rallies to runner-up finish in 2023 season opener

The 2023 season kicked off for Double Duty Motorsports pilot, John Duty, on Saturday evening with a visit to Cottage Grove Speedway (Cottage Grove, Ore.) for the track's Armed Forces Night.

After topping the 13-car field in time trials, Duty was collected in a wreck in his heat that pinned him near the tail of the feature. Thanks to the hard work of his crew before the feature, John was able to take the green in ninth and went onto advance forward seven spots to register a second-place finish. He chased Bricen James to the checkers with Dalton Bloom, Braden Fugate, and Jordan Wright completing the top-five finishers.
