John Duty competes at Douglas County and Willamette
Over the weekend, Double Duty Motorsports patriarch John Duty climbed aboard his No. 5 Super Late Model for the first time in 2025. He raced in a pair of I-5 Silver Bullet Late Model Series shows in Oregon featuring strong fields.
On Friday, Duty was one of 24 Late Model competitors at Roseburg, Oregon’s 3/10-mile Douglas County Dirtrack for a $2,000-to-win program. He claimed the runner-up spot in his heat race and rolled off from the pole position in the 40-lap feature. However, he ran into trouble early and finished 21st.
Another $2,000 was on the line the next night at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Oregon, where Duty was part of a 29-car field. He took fourth in his heat at the 1/3-mile speed plant, then began the 40-lap main event from 16th on the grid. He recorded a 20th-place result with a DNF.
