Wylie opens 2023 season with Appalachian Mountain Speedweek stop at Bedford
The 2023 season officially kicked off for Saltsburg, Pennsylvania’s Andrew Wylie on Thursday afternoon with a trip to Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) to pilot his Ryan Interiors No. 84 Late Model for the fifth round of the Appalachain Mountain Speedweek.
With 38 Late Models on the grounds for the revival of the series that has sat idle since 2017, Wylie laid down the 10th-fastest lap in his time trial group before placing second in his heat, which came behind Eddie Carrier Jr. Starting the $4,000-to-win A-Main in 12th, Andrew showed speed early before retiring on lap 17 of the 35-lapper.
Friday’s $6,092-to-win Appalachian Mountain Speedweek event at Bedford fell victim to Mother Nature.
