Ben Butcher
TWO B RACING FIRES UP FOR KING OF WINGS
After a heartbreaking exit from the Auto 1 Sprintcar Grand Slam last weekend at
Make Smoking History Bunbury Speedway, Ben Butcher is determined to get back to
business this weekend at Perth Motorplex.
The annual King of the Wings is set to sizzle with a massive field of drivers in several
classes of the winged warrior division. Butcher intends to be right amongst it all with
the 360 engine now locked and loaded for tomorrow night.
“Yeah, last week was really disappointing for us,” he said. “With us moving forward
in qualifying, we were starting to think with our tails up and were really positive.”
After the engine let go in the second heat of the night, Butcher was left thinking what
might have been for his team.
“We were in a really great position. If we had of finished the heat, we would have
been up near the front of the bus, but that’s just the way it goes,” he lamented.
A strong field lines up for this weekends’ event and some of the toughest names return to fight it out for the ultimate prize. With this weekends’ round being the first of
the modified 360 Power Series this season.
After taking the previous two 360 Power Series Championships in the last two
seasons, he is keen to defend his crown and has a lot of confidence moving into the
third year defence of his title.
“There’s only a handful of rounds this season for the Power Series Championship, so
we’re ready for this one for sure.”
This weekend will count for something for Butcher who knows how the 360 class
rolls and come Saturday night, he will be ready to put it on show.
