Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 20, 2021) – Alex Hill continued her recent run of solid results when she finished fourth in the feature at U.S. 36 Raceway last Friday, marking her career-best result with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“We had a great start and hit the bottom perfect in turns one and two and went from seventh to third,” said Hill, who posted her previous career-best finish just a couple of weeks prior. “We stayed in third for about 12 laps until J.J. Hickle got by and we eventually finished fourth. Daryl, Pete and Nick gave me a great car.”

The outing at the high-banked oval near Osborn, Mo., also marked Hill’s third consecutive top-10 finish and her seventh of the season with the ASCS National Tour.

“We’ve been fast for a while, but it seemed the things we couldn’t control usually went the wrong way,” she said. “This time we got a break when a couple of cars dropped out of our heat race and we took advantage of that.”

Unfortunately, misfortune returned for Hill the following night at Knoxville Raceway shortly after the beginning of her heat race, which she started second.

“Right after we took the green flag the guy inside me squeezed me toward the wall on the frontstretch,” she said. “I had to brake or else I would’ve hit the wall and that dropped me back to third. A couple of laps later, he spun on the bottom of the track when I was running the top. His car washed up in front of me and I had nowhere to go. I hit him at close to full speed. That ended our night.

“Although we had a lot of damage, I was happy the frame was okay. I really like this car, especially after the changes we made to it recently.”

Hill expects to return to the track on July 28 at Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan., after taking a few nights off from racing to celebrate an important moment in her life with family.

“I’m graduating from California State University Los Angeles with a degree in criminal justice on July 26,” she said. “My mom and sister are coming from Canada for it. I haven’t seen them in four months so I’m taking a little time off from racing to be with them. It will be especially nice to have my mom sticking around and going to my races again. She used to go to all my races, but she hasn’t seen me race since March of 2020 due to COVID restrictions.

“Greg Hamilton is going to fill in for me for the first four ASCS Sprint Week races. Greg is a good friend of ours and we stay at his shop when we are racing in Washington. We wanted to give him a chance to drive our car.”
