Matt Tifft makes starts at Sharon and Port Royal
Trips to dirt tracks in Ohio and Pennsylvania were on the docket for Matt Tifft on Friday and Saturday as he piloted his GUNK No. 57 Super Late Model in two strong fields.
On Friday, Tifft was part of a 34-car World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model Series program at Sharon (Ohio) Speedway with $10,000 going to the winner. With a fourth-place finish in his heat, Tifft grabbed the 16th starting spot in the 40-lap A-Main. He finished in the 18th position on the 3/8-mile oval in his first World of Outlaws main event.
Saturday saw Tifft race among 28 Super Late Models on Kids Night at Pennsylvania’s half-mile Port Royal Speedway. He claimed fifth in his heat and rolled off 14th in the 25-lap feature. He steered to an 11th-place finish.
