Thompson Races to Career Win at RPM Speedway
Cody Thompson hit the ground running on Friday night in the opening round of the 16th annual Fall Nationals at Rolling Plains Motor Speedway (Hays, Kan). He raced to his 14th win of the year in prelim action for the event.
With 48 entries on hand he earned the pole position for his prelim feature and went on to wire the field to pick up his 14th win of the season, which came over Tanner Black, Daniel Gottschalk, Dakota Sproul, and Brandon Beckendorf.
Via his Friday night performance Cody locked into the third-starting spot for Saturday's $5,000-to-win feature. Charging to the lead on the seventh circuit, Thompson never looked back in the 40-lap affair on his way to the biggest win of his career.
His 21st win of the season came ahead of Tanner Mullens, Tanner Black, Clay Sellard, and Daniel Gottschalk.
Action continues on Saturday night with a $5,000-to-win finale.
