On Tuesday, Thompson traveled to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for the 32nd annual Harris Clash. The event, paying $5,000 to win and drawing 75 IMCA Modified competitors, also served as the second night of IMCA.tv Speedweek. Thompson used a ninth-to-third run in his heat race to start seventh on the grid for the 30-lap main event. He picked up three positions on the 3/8-mile track to come home fourth behind Tim Ward, Brandon Beckendorf and Austen Becerra. Eddie Belec finished fifth.

The next night the tour shifted to Hancock County Speedway (Britt, Iowa) for the Night of 10,000 Stars. With $5,000 on offer to the winner, 53 IMCA Modifieds made the trip to the 4/10-mile oval. Thompson finished as runner-up in his heat and started second in the 50-lap A-Main. He led the first half of the race before a tire faded and he ended up 11th.

Forty-three IMCA Modifieds were on hand at the 4/10-mile oval searching for a $5,000 payday in the Larry Evers Fair Street Face Off. After a sixth-place finish in his heat, Thompson used a runner-up finish in his B-Feature to start 24th in the 25-lap main event. He climbed 11 positions to record a 13th-place result.

Thompson finished second in his heat race, but the remainder of the event fell to inclement weather.
