Race Report 1 ~ April 1, 2017 -- Rained Out
Oklahoma Sports Park, Pro-Stock #23

PRE-RACE:
The weather forecast was rain but the OSP web site said “racing is on”. We loaded up and drove over an hour in drizzling rain gaining thunder and lightning as we approached the track. Called the track phone about ten miles out, it reported “racing is on”. Upon arriving around 5:30 we approached the promoter about the rain? They said if ever the lightning stops they will start rolling the track and the radar report indicated we had a big one coming our way but “racing is on”. The drizzle continued until around 7:30 when we are supposed to start. They finally began to roll the track, so we unloaded and as luck has it, the rain came and they called the race. The car turnout was sparse with only three cars in our class and the grand stands were empty. Us and the few others re-loaded in the rain and headed back where we came from towing on two lane roads during the storm. That’s Racing…

OVERALL:
The rained out (big money) “Spring Fling” event has been moved up to next week, April 8, 2017.
