LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Two weekends of rainouts have kept Bradley Fezard out of action since April 11, but he returned with a strong effort on Saturday night. Racing at his home track, I-30 Speedway, the 15-year-old contended for the win, but came just shy with a second-place showing.
Ten micro sprints were all that entered the pit area at the Little Rock, Ark. quarter-mile, and as such, just one heat race was contested. Fezard started in the second spot, and set sail to take the win.
As the tenth-starting driver moved all the way to second, he earned the pole position for the feature on passing points, moving Fezard to the outside of the front row for the 20-lap micro sprint main event. Starved of a win thus far in 2015, the Bonnerdale, Ark. racer felt compelled to bring home the trophy. With the polesitter moving ahead early, Fezard was unable to make a move throughout the race and took the runner-up finish. “Should’ve won the thing,” Fezard said, hinting that he felt his Stallard/Honda machine was strong enough to contend for the victory.
Fezard would like to thank Brandon’s Ranch and Aaron’s Powdercoating, as well as his mom and dad, Frank Galusha at Eagle Motorsports Inc, Justin Lovins with ML Amsoil, and his great fans for their continued support.
Fezard is next scheduled to compete on May 8 at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Ill., and on May 9 at St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, Mo., both with the POWRi Outlaw Micro Series in the #58 600cc micro sprint entry.
