Brad Blake is quite simply regarded as the GOAT of Australian Late Model racing.
112 Late Model feature wins at last count. Five Australian Late Model Titles. Ten Western Australian Late Model Titles. Victorian, New South Wales and Queensland Late Model Titles. Six Pro Dirt Series Titles.
Blake has done it all.
But despite running limited shows in recent seasons, Blake has still got the fire in the belly and this season will be the first time in a long time that they have focussed on running as much as they can.
“Look, we may just be two old blokes from Bunbury” says Brad referring to himself and father Allan, “But we hope to do most of the season first time in a long time as there is obviously not much left in us!”
Brad and his dad have been working hard and believe that they have their inventory the best it has ever been, making sure that their spares are good to go and ready for anything that may happen throughout the season.
“Our aim is to be competitive and enjoy every bit of it” says Brad. “Our car is the same car as we ran last year but we now look forward to releasing a new look mid October.”
“Dad and I want to make sure that March is something special for us. It’s very hard to compete at the level we need to nowadays and the dollars play a big part, but I can assure you that Brad and Allan Blake are doing our best!”
And for those that may write him off as too old, too slow, or not in contention? Brad has some simple words.
“I’m NOT done yet!”
