Load Up The Car And Bring The Family As Can-Am Gets Back To Friday Night Action

With the weather, high school graduations and special mid week shows taking place over the last month, the drivers, teams and fans are looking forward to getting back to a regular night of racing at Can-Am.

Billy Dunn waited until the prestigious Pabst Shootout to claim his first win in the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds last Wednesday. Dunn held of a late race charge from two-time and defending track champion Tim Fuller for his second triumph in the Can-Am crown Jewel event.

Tyler Stevenson wasn’t bothered that 44 cars showed up for the DIRTCar Sportsman Series race. The Watertown native held off Brewerton New York’s Kyle Devendorf to score his first career series win, which saw the lead change several times, before Stevenson held on over the final 5 laps for the big victory.

With our other weekly classes not on the schedule, the First round of Central New York Speedweek for the Empire Super Sprints were on the card Wednesday. Shawn Donath looked to have an easy win until mechanical failure allowed Jordan Poirier to get by for his second win of the year.

This week it’s Family Car Load night so load up the car and bring everyone in the house to Can-Am Friday night. The Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modified, Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman, Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman, Panther Frameworx 602 Crate Sprints, Sundance Leisure Thunder Cars and FABCO DIRTCar Pro Stocks will all be there for a full card of racing.

Can-Am welcomes the good people at Child Advocacy Center/Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County at title sponsor this Friday. With spectator gates opening at 5pm, The group will have free bike helmets at the Child Advocacy bus located on the midway, to help promote safety awareness. It will also be our annual bike giveaway courtesy of our generous race teams at the speedway.
