Weiss races to 11th-place finish in World Finals opener at Charlotte

Following a fifth-place showing in his heat race, Weiss raced his way into Wednesday’s preliminary feature with a third-to-first run in his B-Main. With $15,000 on the line in the feature, Ricky advanced through the field 10 spots to register an 11th-place finish.

For another $15,000-to-win prelim on Thursday, Ricky went from third-to-second in his heat race before placing 10th in the 40-lap feature.

With preliminary points from Wednesday and Thursday placing him on the front row of his heat race on Saturday, Weiss secured his spot into the $25,000-to-win World Finals finale with a runner-up performance. Rolling off 10th, Ricky improved four spots in the 50-lap affair, crossing the line in sixth.
