\Weiss records pair of Top-10 finishes with Southern Nationals Series
On Friday afternoon, Ricky Wiess headed North to Beckley Motor Speedway (Beckley, W.Va.) for the first round of the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals.
After a lengthy rain delay, Weiss qualified seventh-quickest but made up a couple spots in his heat race to earn a third-row starting position in the feature. For the first $10,053-to-win main event of the weekend, Ricky ran inside the Top-10 and recorded an eighth-place finish.
Saturday's event at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) was postponed to Sunday.
With 23 Late Models returning to Wythe for it's rescheduled date, Ricky rolled off from the 10th-position in the 53-lap main event and passed three competitors to land a seventh-place outing.
