Ricky Weiss victorious in FANS Fund Dash at Cedar Lake Speedway
Making the trip up North to Wisconsin, Ricky Weiss joined the World of Outlaw Case Late Model Series on Thursday afternoon at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) for the first night of the USA Nationals.
With World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series officials pushing Thursday's program to Friday afternoon due to wet track conditions, Weiss began his weekend with a 20th-place finish in the first $6,000-to-win preliminary feature before not making the second prelim of the day.
Weiss did participate in the $2,500-to-win FANS Fund Dash and led all 12-laps en route to the dominating victory over Ricky Thornton Jr. and Scott Bloomquist.
Taking a provisional for Saturday's $50,000-to-win main event, Weiss made up 12 positions to wind up 15th in the rain-shortened showdown.
