Wenger dominates FALS foes for fifth win of 2020

Coming off a rainout a week prior, McKay Wenger returned behind the wheel of his Rocket XR1 No. 42 Late Model on Friday evening at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) for the regular night of racing. Following the third fastest lap in time trials, McKay locked his spot into the $1,000-to-win A-Main with a second place finish in his heat behind Taylor Scheffler. With Scheffler setting the pace early, Wenger tracked down the Wisconsin native on the high-side as he closed in on lapped-traffic. After contact with the leader slowed his momentum, McKay salvaged a fifth place finish behind Scheffler, Mike Spatola, Mike Glasscock, and Jeffrey Ledford.

1On Saturday afternoon at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Wenger came in third fastest in his group before picking up an 8-lap heat race victory. Winning by more than a six-second margin in the feature, McKay cruised to his fifth win of the season over Kevin Weaver, Jeffrey Ledford, Scott James, and Dale Markham. He earned a $2,500 payday for his fourth FALS Cup of 2020.
