Wenger scores runner-up finish at FALS

Thursday night found McKay Wenger in action at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) for the Thursday Night Thunder. With 20 Late Models entered, McKay clocked in 11th fastest overall in time trials before placing second in his heat race behind Shannon Babb. The following night at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.), Wenger topped the 11-car field in time trials before picking up a heat race win. Losing two spots in the 25-lap feature, McKay notched a third-place finish, which came behind Mike Spatola and Kevin Weaver. Donny Walden and Jason Wagner completed the Top-5 finishers.

Returning on Fairbury Speedway on Saturday afternoon, Wenger outdueled Mike Spatola in his heat race to pick up the victory. Losing the battle to Spatola in the $2,500-to-win FALS Cup feature, McKay notched a runner-up finish. Jeffrey Ledford, Kevin Weaver, and Mike Provenzano rounded out the Top-5 in the 30-lap affair.
