11th Place Finish in Battle at the Border Finale at Vado Speedway Park
Bringing the 2020 season to life, Garrett Alberson invaded Vado Speedway Park (Vado, New Mexico) on Friday evening piloting the Dave Deetz-owned No. 01 Late Model entry for the inaugural Battle at the Border. Drawing 42 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries for the three-day event, Alberson passed three cars in his heat to reel in a 7th place finish. Needing a 3rd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Garrett fell two spots short with a 5th place finish.
The following night, Alberson came in seventh fastest in his qualifying group before grabbing the 4th and final transfer spot in his heat. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Garrett held his spot for all 30-laps to place 13th. (James Adams Jr. photo)
