Alberson uninjured in violent roll at Davenport Speedway
Garrett Alberson visited Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on Thursday afternoon to compete with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series for the three-day Quad Cities 150 presented by Hoker Trucking. With 38 Late Models entered, Alberson edged his way into the preliminary feature with a 10-lap consolation victory. Starting in 18th, Garrett gained one spot in the 40-lapper to finish 17th. For another $10,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday, Garrett came in fifth in his heat before grabbing the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his B-Main. Improving five spots in the 40-lap affair, Alberson reeled in a 19th-place finish.
On Saturday after a penalization for missing a mandatory autograph session dropped him to the tail of his heat, Alberson recorded a fifth-place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Scoring a runner-up finish behind Nick Hoffman, Garrett locked into the 20th-starting position for the $30,000 Quad Cities 150. Going for a ride early in the race, Alberson flipped violently in turns one and two on the 10th lap but was able to walk away uninjured.
