Garrett Alberson scores podium finish at Farmer City Raceway

On Wednesday afternoon Garrett Alberson returned with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Ill.) to compete with a field of 32 cars. After topping his time trial group, Alberson streaked a heat race victory, sending him into the redraw. After a scheduled off day on Thursday, Garrett followed the Hell Tour to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) on Friday evening for the $10,000 top prize. In a stout field of 41 Late Models, Alberson received the second-starting for the main event after a heat win promoted him into the redraw. He ran second in the early stages before setting in third where he finished. He followed Shannon Babb and McKay Wenger across the line with Brian Shirley and Joe Godsey rounding out the Top-5.

Saturday’s FAS Cup event at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) fell victim to Mother Nature.
