Alberson third in Fall Classic prelim at Whynot Motorsports Park
Roberts Motorsports race week kicked off on Thursday with Garrett Alberson piloting the Roemer Machine & Welding No. 58 Late Model at at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, N.C.) for the 18th annual FK Rod Ends Tar Heel 53.
With Alberson competing in a field of 34 Castrol FloRacing Night in America entries, he punched into the $23,023-to-win A-Main with a second-place finish in his heat but was collected in a multi-car tangle on the seventh circuit that ended his night early.
For the Coors Light Fall Classic preliminary on Friday at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.), Garrett’s fourth-place finish in his heat placed him on the fifth row of his preliminary feature. Chasing a $5,000 payday, Alberson advanced forward seven spots in the 30-lapper to register a third-place finish. He trailed Clay Harris and Chad Thrash across the line with Cody Overton and Clay Fisher rounding out the Top-5.
His weekend drew to an early close on Saturday after missing a transfer spot in his heat race and B-Main.
