Hoffman seventh with World of Outlaws at Mississippi Thunder

Following the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on a northern swing to two premier tracks in Wisconsin and Minnesota, Nick Hoffman trekked to Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) on Friday evening to pilot his Tye Twarog Racing No. 9 Late Model for the Milton Hershey School Back to Class Showdown.

With 30 Late Models on the grounds, Hoffman repelled Brandon Sheppard in his heat race to pick up the eight-lap victory. Chasing a $20,000 payday in feature, Nick lost three spots in the 40-lap affair to finish seventh.

For another $20,000-to-win event on Saturday, Nick raced into the Labor Day Duel finale at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) with a fourth-place finish in his heat. Starting in 11th, Hoffman faded in the final 10 circuits to place 16th.

The weekend drew to a close for Hoffman on Sunday with a stop at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) to prepare for the upcoming World 100 with the annual Earl Baltes Memorial. After racing into the feature via a fourth-to-first run in his consolation event, Nick tagged the wall while running ninth that brought an early end to his night.

Nick is currently eighth in the latest World of Outlaw point standings.
