Nick Hoffman Scores Career-Best Victory at Mississippi Thunder Speedway
Earns $30,000 in Dairyland Showdown
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (05/05/25) – Nick Hoffman snapped a recent dry spell with the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series over the weekend with a career-high $30,000 victory in the Dairyland Showdown at Mississippi Thunder Speedway aboard his Tye Twarog Racing / NOS Energy Drink No. 9 Longhorn Chassis Super Late Model.
Hoffman, a preliminary feature winner at the 2024 Dairyland Showdown, outran current World of Outlaws points leader Bobby Pierce on Saturday night to capture his second win of the season and the seventh of his career with the national tour.
“If I could get myself tightened up just a little bit where I could drive straighter, I’d be better, and that was what I was able to do tonight,” Hoffman said. “I was worried those first couple laps when it was dirty that I would end up hurting tires, so I was kind of conservative those first 10 laps, and then after that I pushed pretty hard once the track started to slow down. So I was glad to see that caution, it got me reracked and I was able to run my line again.”
The weekend doubleheader at Mississippi Thunder Speedway kicked off Friday evening with 44 Super Late Model entries converging on the 3/8-mile oval for the opening night of the Dairyland Showdown.
After claiming the overall fast time honors in qualifying, Hoffman surrendered a spot in his heat race to finish second. Starting Friday’s $25,000-to-win preliminary feature in fifth, Nick climbed three positions in the 50-lap affair to register a second-place finish. He joined race-winner Tyler Erb on the podium with Bobby Pierce finishing third.
On Saturday, Nick stormed into the Dairyland Showdown finale with a third-to-first run in his heat race. Determined to improve on the previous night’s result, Hoffman overtook Brandon Overton on lap 18 and never looked back, leading the final 33 circuits to capture the richest victory of his career.
Hoffman crossed the finish line 1.421 seconds ahead of Bobby Pierce, who settled for second, while Overton held on for third. The win brought Hoffman closer in the World of Outlaws Real American Late Model Series standings, trimming the gap to championship leader Bobby Pierce to just 76 points.

Hoffman is slated to return to competition tomorrow as Illinois Speedweek gets underway at the newly reopened LaSalle Speedway. The five-race swing across the state opens with three consecutive FloRacing Night in America presented by Kubota events, followed by a pair Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series programs to close out the week.
