Hill finishes fourth with Southern Nationals at Wythe Raceway
Vic Hill debuted with the the Schaeffer's Southern Nationals on Saturday afternoon at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) for the second round of the 12-race miniseries.
With 22 Late Models entered, Hill picked up the fast time honors in qualifying before placing first in his heat. After pacing the field for the opening 29 circuits of the feature, Vic faded to finish fourth. He followed Dale McDowell, Cory Hedgecock, and Michael Brown across the line with Camaron Marlar coming in fifth.
For another $10,053-to-win A-Main on Sunday at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.), Vic's third-place finish in his heat race positioned him on the fourth row for the main event. He was credited with a 22nd-place finish after retiring on lap 29.
