Midwest Fall Brawl this weekend at I-80 Speedway

By I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, NE) -- Saturday, September 29th racing action returns to the I-80 Speedway in the 2018 Casey’s General Stores Midwest Fall Brawl. The 3 classes that will be showcased in this year’s race will be the Malvern Bank Super Late Models, IMCA Racesaver Sprints, and the Nebraska 360s/Midwest Touring Sprint Series. The Malvern Bank Super Late Models will be racing for $3,000 to-win and $500 to-start. The 360 sprints will be racing for $4,000 to-win and $450 to-start, plus there is nearly $5,000 in contingency and lap money up for grabs. This includes; $500 hard charger (KnoxVegas Racing), $250 hard luck award (A Plus Towing), $200 B-Feature king (Autoland), and $3,500 in lap money. The IMCA Racesaver Sprints will be racing for $800 to-win and $250 to-start.

This night will be the championship night for the Malvern Bank SLM Series. Currently 5-time Malvern Bank series champion, Kyle Berck leads the way in the point standings. While Berck is looking for his sixth series title, Ben Schaller sits just 10 points back of Berck for the points lead, Schaller is on the hunt for his first Malvern Bank title. I-80 Speedway track champion, Bill Leighton sits in third in the Malvern Bank standings back 34 points, Tad Pospisil rides in fourth back 70, and Jason O’Brien rounds out the top five as he is back 94 points.

This will also be the championship night for the Nebraska 360 Sprints. Jack Dover sits atop the standings after 19 races. Jason Martin is second, Cody Ledger holds down the third spot, Shayle Bade has her number 03-machine in fourth, and John Klabunde rides fifth in the standings. Through the 19 races, Jack Dover has taken his piloted his number 53 to victory lane 7 times. Though the MSTS 360 Sprints points season is over they will also join the NE360s at I-80 on the 29th. The top 5 in their points currently is Lee Grosz is their champion, Eric Lutz holds on to second place by just 2 points over Jody Rosenboom, Jack Dover sits fourth, and Gregg Bakker rounds out the top 5.

Entry fee will be $20 for both 305 sprints and 360 sprints, $65 for late models. Pre-registration will close on September 26th at 11 PM, $20 late fee after the 26th. Pit passes will be $35, adult grandstand admission will be $20, kids 6-12 in age will be $5, and kids 5 and under are free. Pit gate will open at 3:00, grandstands open at 4:30, with racing action starting at 6:00!
