Will Roland scores pair of runner-up finishes in Turkey 100 weekend at Swainsboro
For Thanksgiving weekend, Will Roland traveled to Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the first night of the $10,000-to-win Turkey 100.
Following the seventh-fastest lap out of 26 Late Models, Roland started the 30-lap preliminary feature from the seventh spot and moved passed six competitors on his way to a runner-up outing. He trailed Brandon Overton while Ben Faircloth, Cody Overton, and Dillon Brown.
With the $10,000 finale slated for Saturday, Will picked it up in qualifying by stopping the clock second-fastest in his group before finishing second to Brandon Overton in his heat. Slowly moving towards the front in the 50-lap feature, Roland once again found himself in the runner-up position. Cody Overton outran Roland to the checkered flag while Carson Ferguson, Pearson Williams, and Brandon Overton completed the Top-5.
