Jeff Taylor wheeled his Industrial Electric No. 5 Spur Bar/ Wehrs Machine/ Heat Transfer Solutions/ Shaw Race Cars IMCA Modified to his third win of the season on Saturday.
Taylor’s triumph came at the annual Larry Phillips Memorial at Legit Speedway Park in West Palins, Missouri.
“We didn’t have a very good showing on the Dakota Classic Modified Tour, but we were able to bounce back over the weekend with a win at West Plains,” Taylor noted. “I greatly appreciate all of our great sponsors and everyone who supports my racing program. We’ll try and put this No. 5 back in Victory Lane this weekend.”
In a field of 23 IMCA Modifieds, Taylor jumped up one spot in his heat race to place fourth, earning him the eighth spot on the feature grid. Jeff quickly made his way to the front of the field and for the first half of the race, a fierce battle ensued for the top spot.
After the war, it was Taylor who took command and held off Ashton Wilkey in the final circuits of the 20-lapper to capture his third win of the season. Wilkey finished second, with Robert Powers, Mark Norris, and Shawn Walsh rounding out the Top-5..
