Jeff Taylor
Podium finish in second round of Dakota Mod Tour
Making the 14-hour trek north, Jeff Taylor invaded Red River Valley Speedway (West Fargo, N.D.) on Friday afternoon to kick off the 31st annual Dakota Classic Modified Tour powered by Bismarck Motor Company. Drawing 75 Modified entries for the first round of six, Taylor charged forward five spots in his heat to register a fourth place finish, transferring him into the B-Main. Picking up the 12-lap consolation victory, Jeff locked into the 17th-starting position for the opening night feature. Unable to get any momentum started on the one-lane 3/8-mile oval, Taylor logged a 23rd place outing.
The following night at Jamestown Speedway (Jamestown, N.D.), Jeff passed seven cars in his heat to place second behind Austin Arneson. Rolling off 9th for the A-Main, Taylor improved six spots in the 30-lapper to reel in a third place finish behind Jake O’Neil and Billy Kendall III with Jacob Bleess and Kelsie Foley rounding out the Top-5.
On Sunday afternoon at Nodak Speedway (Minot, N.D.), Jeff logged a fifth place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Passing four cars to pick up the 12-lap consolation victory, Taylor earned the 17th-starting position for the $2,400-to-win A-Main. Running into trouble on the opening lap, Jeff suffered a blown head gasket that forced him pitside for the remainder of the evening.
