It was a Shootout
The Stallard and Henchcraft pits were a flurry of activity all week for many reasons. We welcomed the Dirt Collective to showcase their video and photography artistry and promote some cool swag. The many visitors were treated with free hoodies from RedLine Pro Designs and a glass of the now famous sweet tea provided by Bush's Chicken and Randall Motorsports. The week was great for connecting with families from all over the country.
The EMi presence was known this year as the family has continued to grow. Nearly all classes carried an EMi entrant that charged forward during all of their qualifying events. When the dust settled, 270 races were completed, and although a Driller had evaded us this year we definitely made ground for next years assault.
Results were respectful and hardly worthy of the effort put in by the drivers and teams. Chase Randall lead the charge in two classes only to settle on one before the week ended. Finishing a solid 8th in the restricted A class main event. Chase's teammate, Tyler Courtney, in a similar lettered Stallard garnered the highest finish for the EMi teams with a 3rd in the A class feature. Tyler also made the A-Main event in the non-wing class as well.
The Outlaw class was packed full of talent in the Stallard stable. Frank Galusha battled sickness as much as competitors to drive forward into the LCQ and end 3 spots shy of an A-Main berth in the winged division. Cooper Smith posted respectable results finishing in the top half of his B-Main. The next 3 drivers all drove hard to narrowly miss LCQ bids. Jake Galusha moved to third and only one spot out of a transfer. Jayce Jenkins did much of the same in his B-Main and McKenna Haase moved forward and missed the LCQ by three after moving ahead in her Priority Aviation #55.
The Lightning Sprints or 1200's as they are classed, put on a great show with both winged and non-wing classes of the cars. All of the Henchcrafts present competed in both categories with Jarrett Kramer finishing atop the EMi teams. Jarrett earned a 4th in the wing class from 10th, and a 5th from 8th non-wing. Rod Henning earned the hard charger in both classes with an 8th from 15th winged and a 7th from 13th non-wing. Presley Truedson was poised to win a driller when a rough start to the non-wing feature injured her car posting a DNF. Presley battled back with the wing on to secure a 5th place finish. Aspiring sprint car star, Kyle Offill, made his first trip to Tulsa a good one. Tuning up for the Chili Bowl, this young man from CA captured a 9th finishing position in the A-main from an 11th starting position. Kyle will be a boomerang as he will be returning next week to test his skills in a full midget. The Washington standout, Chance Crum, had a bout with some Tulsa luck as the #10 DNF'd in both feature events. Hardly Chase's doing and certainly not reflective of the shear talent this driver has shown.
