Fisher captures Comp Cams victory at Greenville Speedway
For the rescheduled Gumbo Nationals, Clay Fisher returned to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Miss.) on Friday afternoon to compete in a field of 27 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) entries. With his starting spot already locked into the main event, Fisher inherited the lead with five circuits remaining and went on to capture his seconds CCSDS triumph of his career. He took the checkers ahead of Hunter Rasdon, Kyle Beard, Josh Putnam, and Mike Palasini Jr. to claim $4,000. (Millie Tanner photo | Turn 3 images)
On Saturday, Clay’s sixth-place finish in his heat race pinned him 16th on the starting grid for the $8,000-to-win Gumbo Nationals finale. Coming one spot shy of a Top-10 finish, Fisher gained five spots in the 50-lapper to register an 11th-place finish.
