Podium finish in Kenneth Mitchell Memorial

On Friday afternoon Jon Mitchell returned to Texarkana 67 Speedway (Texarkana, Ark.) to kick off the Kenneth Mitchell Memorial, the two-day event honoring his late father. In a field of 25 cars, Mitchell topped the speed charts in time trials before picking up a heat race win.

Earning the pole position for the $5,555-to-win A-Main on Saturday, Jon shot out to an early race lead and paced the field for the first 17 circuits. After Tyler Stevens stole the top spot on the 18th circuit, Mitchell went on to place third in the 55-lapper, which came behind Stevens and Kyle Beard. J.C. Waller and David Winslett completed the Top-5 finishers.
