Stormy scores fifth-place finish in I-80 Nats prelim; Eighth-place finish in Silver Dollar Nationals finale

Tuesday afternoon saw Stormy Scott pick back up with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) to kick off five nights of racing with the I-80 Nationals. With passing points aligning the starting grid for the preliminary feature, Scott recorded a third-place finish. Starting in seventh, Stormy dropped five spots in the 30-lapper to finish 12th.

For another $7,000-to-win preliminary feature on Wednesday, Stormy laid down the second fastest time in his group before placing third in his heat. He went on to place fifth in the 30-lap A-Main, which came behind Tyler Erb, Ricky Weiss, Ricky Thornton Jr., and Brandon Overton.

With preliminary results from Tuesday and Wednesday setting the grid for the $30,000-to-win I-80 Nationals on Thursday evening, Scott was pinned into the eighth-starting position. Clawing forward one spot in the 53-lap affair, Stormy scored a seventh-place finish.

On Friday afternoon for a pair of heat races to get the 11th annual Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals underway, Stormy passed five cars in his first heat to finish second before capturing a heat race win in his second round.

Locked into the pole for the $53,000-to-win finale on Saturday evening, Scott ran in the top-five in the first half of the 80-lapper but wound up eighth when the checkered flag flew.

Stormy is currently 12th in the LOLMDS point standings. For full results from these events, please visit www.LucasDirt.com.
