Weekly Racing Plus the First of Three Power Wheel Demo Derby's

Sandusky Speedway resumes this weekend Saturday June 11th as the Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sportsmans and Hobby Stock divisions compete. In addition to the regular divisions the first of three Power Wheels Demo Derby is schedule for kids 3 - 8 years old. The kids are encouraged to bring their Power Wheels for some fun on the track. Like most tracks in the area the second week of June brings only the 5th race of the 2016 racing season. Even with only 4 races in the books some interesting battles are starting to form as the July 9th, 2016 Mathews Ford Mid-Season Championship is just around the corner.

In the Melinda! Melinda! Hobby Stock Division Richard Clem dominates however second, third and fourth all split a 7 point difference. Brandon Halcomb has entered as a contender and holds second place leading Kelly Lilie by 6 points. Lilie has been traveling this season after picking up a 2015 Sandusky Speedway Championship in the division. Justin Stanley who has missed a two weeks remains one point behind Lilie.

In the Milan Automotive Street Stock Division Michael White jumped to the top of the points battle with two consecutive feature wins on May 7th and 21st. Mark Resor sits second in the division after having trouble a couple weeks ago and unable to make the feature. Resor has also picked up two feature wins this season. Doug Cantley sits 3rd in points after missing the season opener in April.

The Autism Speaks (Wolf Pack) Sportsman Division is running a tight points battle all the way back to 5th. With 3 of 4 feature wins, Jerry Karl leads however has Rich Clingan within 26 points, Joe Borczuch trails by 29 points. Jeff Karl and Logan Cooper battling in the 4th in 5th positions with 42 and 67 points behind the leader respectively.

The Modified Division has two drivers without a feature win this season sitting first and second in points. Chris Hamilton leads the division by two points over Jeremie Wiggins. Kenny Sharp the 2015 Sandusky Speedway Modified Champion picked up back to back feature wins at the start of the season but ran into trouble and went pit side after being involved in a multi car pile up on the back stretch giving Sharp the worst finish of the season and giving up the points lead.

Sandusky Speedway prepares to host the Main Event Racing Series on June 18th.
