Bloomquist Sweeps Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Debut at Jackson Motorplex; Forbrook and Schreurs Also Victorious

Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (July 18, 2018) – Scott Bloomquist swept the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series portion of the Sturdevant’s Auto Parts 50 presented by State Bank of Fairmont on Wednesday evening at Jackson Motorplex, where Brady Forbrook and Travis Schreurs also garnered trips to Victory Lane.
Bloomquist set quick time during qualifying, won a heat race and won the main event from the pole to garner his 601st career triumph and 93rd career with the series, which made its rousing debut with a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win feature.
Points leader Jonathan Davenport maneuvered to a runner-up result with Josh Richards rounding out the podium. Bobby Pierce finished fourth and Brandon Sheppard rallied from 13th to a fifth-place finish.
Richards and Pierce joined Bloomquist as heat race winners at the 4/10-mile oval.
Forbrook scored his second Heartland Steel RaceSaver sprint cars presented by Wyffels Hybrids triumph of the season after starting fifth. Trevor Serbus placed second with Dusty Ballenger charging from ninth to third place. Jesse Lindberg ended fourth and Brant O’Banion was fifth.
Forbrook and Ballenger each won a heat race.
Schreurs captured the LMSS Touring Street Stock Series feature victory. Eric Moser, Dustin Gulbrandson, Jim Pruett and Brylee Gough completed the top five, respectively.
Schreurs and Gough were victorious during heat race action.
The lights will come back on at Jackson Motorplex on Friday for Full Tilt Performance presents the Barb Wieskus Memorial featuring the DeKalb/Asgrow presents the Midwest Power Series by GRP Motorsports 360ci winged sprint cars, Heartland Steel RaceSaver sprint cars presented by Wyffels Hybrids and NSL non-wing sprint cars presented by HitchDoc. The pits open at 3:30 p.m. with the main gates opening at 5 p.m. and hot laps at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for seniors ages 62-years-old and older and $5 for students ages 13-years-old to 18-years-old. Children ages 12-years-old and younger get into the main grandstands for free. Pit passes are $35 for adults and $20 for children ages 12-years-old and younger.
Additionally, C&B Operations, LLC will give away six bicycles to children during the intermission on Friday. Children ages 10-years-old and younger can sign up as they enter the grandstand area.
