September 27, 2017 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Pulaski, PA)...On August 5 at Jennerstown Speedway, GM crate engine Late Model, Modified, and Street Stock competitors in the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Asphalt Racing Series powered by Pace Performance sanctioned divisions shared in over $21,000 in products at the inaugural "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD Performance. The product values ranged from $165 to $650 of useful components such as Holley Carburetors, MSD Ignition components, TBM Brakes, Schoenfeld Headers, along with numerous others.
The now completed 2017 season was the inaugural year for the partnership between the Sweeney RUSH Asphalt Series and the half-mile Jennerstown Speedway Complex located in Jennerstown, Pa, and has been deemed a great success. As is the case for all divisions on the dirt side of RUSH, a “Manufacturer’s Night” presented by MSD Performance took place for the Series' Asphalt racers. In 2017, well over of $110,000 worth of valuable product contingencies were distributed to racers under the RUSH umbrella.
The Asphalt Manufacturers Night's grand prize was a ARbodies a body package for one lucky GM crate engine Late Model or Street Stock competitor. The winner was Shawn Phillips, who received a white ABC Late Model Body Package worth $2,395! In addition, Phillips won a MSD 6CT Ignition Box (Part #6427) along with a $200 certificate from Earl's Performance Products bringing his product totals to nearly $3,000! Late Model drivers Rick Boyer and Joe Maruca also took home products in excess of $1,000.
For the Modified giveaways, Zane Ferrell and Gary Scott were the two big winners. Both won a Holley 4150-80541 Series- 650 CFM Carburetor as their main prize, while their additional prizes bumped their total product values received to over $1,000!
Lauren Butler made history becoming the first female RUSH Champion by winning the Street Stock title and becoming the first woman in the history of Jennerstown Speedway to win a track championship. Butler was also the top Street Stock MFG Night winner and second overall taking home a Holley 4150-80541 Series- 650 CFM Carburetor, package of VB Standard Landrum Performance Coil Springs, and two American Racer 970 Tires to bring her total to $1,210!
"I can't thank our corporate marketing partners enough for stepping up to help make the inaugural RUSH Asphalt Series Manufacturers Night presented by MSD a huge success," stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig. "To be able to distribute over $21,000 of product to the racers in the very first year of this new chapter of RUSH (asphalt racing) is just another testament to the working relationship between ourselves and our manufacturing partners, and their belief in the RUSH GM crate engine concept. We're looking forward to building into our Asphalt program all of the other exciting pieces that have helped make the RUSH Racing Series a success on dirt; which will disperse over $250,000 in cash and valuable product contingencies to its racers. The inaugural Asphalt Manufacturers Night is a great example of how this will happen."
“The relationship with RUSH has already provided many benefits to competitors and to Jennerstown’s racing program in this first year, and this ‘Manufacturer’s Night’ was just icing on the cake,” said Jennerstown Promoter Mike Lysakowski. “We are eager to continue the relationship with RUSH because of the smart, consistent rules package that governs our three divisions of RUSH racing. This $21,000 giveaway event added value to our competitors, and a great opportunity to display to the fans just how committed the RUSH organization is, to making racing stronger, for both dirt track and asphalt track race teams.”
Thank you to the following contributors that made the inaugural "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD Performance so successful: ARbodies, Earl's Performance Products, FK Rod Ends, Holley, Jennerstown Engine Technologies, Jennerstown Speedway, Jones Racing Products, K&N, Landrum Performance Springs, Lias Tire, Maxima Racing Oil, MSD Performance, Pace Performance, Quick Fuel, Schoenfeld Headers, Sunoco Race Fuels, Superior Steering Wheel, TBM Brakes, and Ultra-Shield.
