Podium finish in Rumble by the River finale at Port Royal

Gregg Satterlee was one of 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Thursday afternoon for the three-day Rumble by the River. After Mother Nature delayed the program while hot laps were taking place, Satterlee posted a third place finish in his heat, transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. With persistent rain and an unfavorable forecast wiping out Friday night’s $12,000-to-win program, Satterlee returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday afternoon for the $15,000-to-win finale. Following the third fastest time in his qualifying group, Gregg streaked to an 8-lap heat race victory, which positioned him sixth on the starting grid for the finale. After breaking into the Top-5 in the first half of the race, Satterlee snuck past Brandon Sheppard for second with 20 laps remaining. With multiple cautions slowing his momentum, Gregg hung onto a third place finish behind Kyle Larson and Brandon Sheppard with Chris Ferguson and Tim McCreadie completing the Top-5 finishers.
