Satterlee sixth in Battle at the Border finale at Sharon Speedway
Gregg Satterlee returned to the driver’s seat of his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Late Model on Thursday evening at Sharon Speedway (Hartford, Ohio) to spend the Memorial Day weekend with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series.
Drawing 40 cars for the three-day event, Gregg raced his way into the opener with a fourth-to-first charge in his heat. With $6,000 on the line, Satterlee was collected in a multi-car tangle while running fifth that ended his night early.
For the second round of the Battle at the Border on Friday, Satterlee locked his spot into the final prelim with a consolation victory after finishing sixth in his heat. Starting in 17th, Gregg pulled pitside on lap 16.
On Saturday, Gregg laid down the third-fastest qualifying lap in his group before placing first in his heat. Chasing a $25,000 payday in the Battle at the Border A-Main, Satterlee led laps early but battled a tight-handling car in the second half of the race that saw him fade to sixth at the finish.
