“Night of Remembrance” Added to the XR Events Twin Ports Twin 25’s – Friday, July 18, 2025
Three years ago this July, the Carlson-McLain and Anderson families lost a dear friend, father, and husband, Brian McLain, who passed suddenly from a heart attack.
In “remembrance” of Brian, his family and friends began a tradition of donating $111 to the Late Model driver finishing 11th in the XR EventsTwin Ports Twin 25’s feature event. The 1’s are a tribute to Brian’s favorite WISSOTA driver, the “Double One Express” Pat Doar.
This year, with growing support from the local community, the families are inviting everyone to join in. Over the years since Brian’s passing, the outpouring of love and generosity has inspired a larger effort to celebrate and remember those we’ve all lost. Together, we can use this special night to honor the ones who are no longer with us.
We’re proud to announce that, thanks to the continued support of family, friends, race fans, and local businesses, this year’s Twin Ports Twin 25’s on Friday, July 18th, will feature a Fans Fund called the “Night of Remembrance.”
Fans are encouraged to participate by donating in memory of a loved one. You can text Joe Stariha at 218-349-7367 or stop by the scoring tower on race night. Donations can be made to any class, any finishing position, long haul awards, hard chargers, whatever feels most meaningful to you. Every dollar raised goes directly to the drivers.
Throughout the evening, we’ll recognize your name, the loved one you’re remembering, and where your donation is going, both at the track and on our Facebook page and website.
In true McLain-Carlson family fashion, it’s all about the 1’s! The top 11 finishers in both Twin Ports Twin 25’s Late Model features will each receive a $111 bonus in Brian’s honor.

As we prepare for this first-ever Night of Remembrance, we invite fans to honor their loved ones in a way that’s personal and meaningful. If you wish to make a dedication in memory of someone lost to suicide, we kindly ask that you consider doing so during our 7th Annual Suicide Prevention Night on August 15th, a night dedicated to raising awareness, offering support, and remembering those impacted by suicide.
