Matt Cosner banks Bedford prelim, second in Saturday's Keystone Cup
Matt Cosner took his Nelson Auto Sales No. 66c Late Model into battle on Friday afternoon at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) as the fifth annual Keystone Cup kicked off with a pair of preliminary features.
With the 38-car field divided into two groups, Cosner topped his time trial group with a 19.482-second lap, locking him on the pole for his prelim. Outrunning Gregg Satterlee, Matt rolled to his fourth win of the season in the 20-lapper. He pocketed $2,500 ahead of Satterlee, Chris Ferguson, Kyle Hardy, and Justin Weaver.
Earning the pole for Saturday’s $22,000-to-win Keystone Cup via a dash victory, Matt chased race-long pacesetter Jeff Rine to the checkers and held off Gregg Satterlee in the closing laps with a deflating right-rear tire, marking him second on the rundown. Garrett Smith, and Dylan Yoder completed the Top-5 finishers in the 60-lap affair.
