UMA RELEASES VIOLATIONS AND SUSPENSIONS FOR DRIVERS AND CREWS

Wisconsin Dells WI-The Unified Motorsports Association Committee has made its ruling on actions by drivers and team members from the event held at Dells Raceway Park on May 6th, 2023. The actions were in direct violation of section “O” paragraphs 1 thru 7 in the UMA Procedure Rule Book for the six participants involved.
Race Driver Alex Hartwig was cited for violation of Section O paragraph three for unsportsmanlike driving and placed on probation thru July 1st, 2023 at DRP. Driver Brad Warthan was cited for Section O paragraph three for unsportsmanlike conduct and will be suspended from driving and will not be allowed in the pits before, during or after the race events until a reinstatement date of July 1st and will be placed on probation for the remainder of the 2023 racing season. Driver Hunter Stenson was cited for violations of section O paragraph two and three and will be suspended from driving and pit area access before, during or after the race events until July 1st 2023 and has been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2023 racing season. Team Member of the 50 car Mel Stenson was cited for violations of Section O paragraph one and three and will be restricted from pit area access before, during or after the race events until July 1st 2023 and has been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2023 racing season. Crew member of the 50 car Tod Stenson was cited for violation of section O paragraph 5 and will be restricted from driving and pit area access before, during or after the race events until May 27th, 2023 and has been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2023 racing season. Crew Member from the 44 race team Steve Lichtfeld was cited for violations of section O paragraph one and will be suspended and is restricted from driving and pit area access before, during or after the race events until May 27th, 2023 and has been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2023 racing season.
Probation period defined: The process or period of observing the character or abilities of a person in a certain role.
Section O: DRIVER/CREW MEMBER CONDUCT

  1. Upon admittance to a restricted area, all participants must conduct themselves in a manner not detrimental to stock car racing. Profanity in front of race fans, officials, management, profane signs or writing on cars etc., will not be tolerated and may be subject to penalties. Conduct on Social Media deemed detrimental to UMA or its tracks or sponsors may subject the driver or team to sanctions.
  2. The driver assumes responsibility for the actions of his or her pit crew. Drivers may be issued penalties for pit crew misconduct. Such penalties, if applied, may extend to the car as well as the driver.
  3. Unsportsmanlike driving, rough driving, or unnecessary bumping is prohibited and may result in removal from a race. Flagrant and/or repeated unsportsmanlike conduct on the track or in the pits may result in suspension. This suspension may span the winter hiatus and be completed in the following season. Any driver who, in the judgment of series officials, engages in rough driving, deliberately running into, blocking or swerving in front of another car may be subject to penalties.
  4. Any driver who intentionally causes a caution condition, without safety being an issue, by stopping, spinning or any other action, is subject to a two lap penalty.
  5. Unsportsmanlike, violent, or abusive behavior use of improper language toward officials, competitors, and/or fans is prohibited and subject to suspension or exclusion.
  6. A competitor that stops his or her car on the track to argue or discuss an incident with the start or other officials may be subject to penalties.
  7. General misconduct in the pit area may result in penalties.
