Nick Bilbee Wins His 1st At LPS On Family Night

The Sprints had 25 entries and with the hard rain before hot laps the big curb and clay at LPS was in supreme juiced up mode and speeds were wild. The 3 fast times in their groups were put in by Zack Pretorius, Jadon Rogers and Harley Burns. All 3 of these heats had interesting groups. Heat race 1 Seth Parker got the win over Brandon Spencer, Zack Pretorius, Brayden Clark and Beau Brandon making the feature. Heat race 2 Nick Bilbee would win it over Kyle Johnson, Jadon Rogers, Cameron LaRose and Ricky Lewis making the show. It shows how tough Indiana is when the CRA points leader makes the final transfer spot. Once again as I always say we are so fortunate and spoiled for the amount of great talent we get to see every weekend battle it out. The final heat Harley Burns won it over Chris Temby, Kyle Shipley, Jason Tirb and Jacob Brown. The final B main to get in was won by Austin Nigh. This setup the 25 lap A main and the track still had a lot of moisture in it after the fireworks lit up the sky. Nick Bilbee it was his night to shine at LPS. His lead was not by much the whole race as he held off strong attempts inches behind him from Seth Parker, Harley Burns and Jadon Rogers. In the final laps the Orange 5 with Jadon driving was ready to make a move but Nick was able to get through lappers decent and held on for the huge win for the 69 hoffman sponsored car and congrats to Nick for finally getting that win at LPS after years of great runs. Following him at the finish it was Jadon Rogers, Harley Burns, Seth Parker, Brandon Spencer and Kyle Johnson. Thanks to all 25 teams who once again are my heroes and put on an outstanding show for our great fans.

The UMP Mods had 15 entries with Tyler Loughmiller and Kenny Carmichael Sr. getting the fast times in their groups. Heat race 1 had Jason Cox winning it over Tyler Loughmiller, Jerry Bland Jr. and Race Liberante. Heat race 2 had Scott Ricketts winning it over Kenny Carmichael Sr. Jarod Deckard and Cody Wright. This setup the 20 lap A main and the final tuneup for the Ricketts 33 next Saturday. Tyler Loughmiller ran a strong 20 laps from the pole and diced his way through the lapped traffic to pick up the big win and add to his points lead in the Indiana region. At the checkers it was Tyler, Kenny Carmichael SR., Cody Wright, Matt Mitchell, Scott Ricketts and Jarod Deckard. Great show by the mods and looking forward to the Buckeye next Saturday.

The Super Stocks had 11 entries and the 2 fast times went to the Hobbs chassis drivers Reece Novak and Lee Hobbs. Both heat races were won from the pole. Heat race 1 Cody Tate won it over Reece Novak, Ryan Freeland and Travis Heramb. Heat race 2 was won by Devin Wallen over Lee Hobbs, Wes McClara and Wade Goodale. This setup the A main and Reece drew the front row outside and he would put together a strong 20 lap run ending Lee’s streak of wins. Lee finished 2nd behind Reece followed by Devin Wallen, Wes McClara and Cody Tate. The UMP points are updated now and if you have time look at the UMP Sportsman national points and it is full of our local drivers that put on a show each and every week.

The Bombers had 12 entries and the fast times went to Katie Grigsby 19.214 and Brad Davis 18.116. Heat race 1 Scott Tidwell would take the win from the outside front row over Katie Grigsby and Austin Hunter. Heat race 2 his teammate Josh Foxworthy took the win from the same spot over Josh Vancleave and Brad Davis. This setup the 15 lap A main and the front row was Katie and Scott. This would be another great bomber race as Katie and Scott battled for the top spot early but the 55 of Scott Tidwell would take the lead and run a smooth 15 laps to pick up the big win. Following him at the finish it was Josh Foxworthy, Katie Grigsby, Brad Davis and Jeremy Tate. Don’t Forget This Week Is The Buckeye Bob 33 and it should be intense with 2 grand to win the 33 lapper in memory of Gary and Ronnie!! See you at LPS for the big UMP Mod show.
