McCowan just misses Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury Speedway
Before getting to the highly-anticipated Prairie Dirt Classic, Dillon McCowan made a pitstop at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway on Monday afternoon for the Davenport Deal doubleheader with the XR Super Series.
Missing the setup in qualifying, McCowan moved forward in both his heat and B-Main which earned him a spot in the $15,000-to-win feature. Completing all 40 laps, Dillon finished 14th.
Tuesday's event at the facility was rained out.
Turning his attention to the famed Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Wednesday afternoon, McCowan was among a massive 65-car field checked in for the Castrol FloRacing Night in America's "One for the Road" event.
Stopping the clock 15th-quickest in his stacked group, McCowan fell back in his heat race and buried himself a B-Main. Wanting to save his equipment for the weekend, Dillon was a scratch.
On Friday evening, McCowan missed the setup in qualifying but made up six spots in his showdown feature to record a Top-10 finish in eighth.
Needing a Top-2 finish in his last chance showdown on Saturday, Dillon came up just short with a fourth-place outing.
