(Warrensburg, Missouri) The Central Missouri Speedway season continues this Saturday, July 23, with the Sixth-Annual POWRi Super Stock Showdown, paying $2,000 to the winner of the 30-lap main event! In addition, weekly championship racing will take place for B-Mods, Pure Stocks, and POWRi Midwest Mods.

Due to the forecasted high temperatures, CMS officials recently announced this weekend’s program will start one hour later than normal. The revised timeline for Saturday’s action looks like this: Pits open at 5:30, followed by Grandstand admissions at 6. The driver Pill Draw cutoff is 7:15 (no passing points awarded if driver is late checking in), followed by the Pit Meeting at 7:30. Hot laps will follow the pit meeting and any needed track packing. Racing will follow the hot lap practice session.

For the POWRi Super Stock competitors, there is a special-event entry fee as follows, the entry fees mentioned here cover the driver’s pit pass for the night plus the event entry: $65 for TRACK-REGISTERED driver, $90 for NON-TRACK-REGISTERED driver. Drivers failing to make the B-Main will receive $40, drivers who run the B-Main (if needed) but who do not transfer to the A-Main will earn $50.

The original posted purse for the Super Stock Showdown: 1) $2000, 2) $1400, 3) $900, 4) $700, 5) $500, 6) $400, 7) $300, 8) $200, 9) $180, 10) $170, 11) $165, 12) $160, 13) $155, 14) $150, 15) $145, 16) $140, 17) $135, 18) $130, 19) $125, 20) $120, 21) $115, 22) $110, 23) $105, 24) $100. All CMS purses are guaranteed and paid in cash.

Earlier in the week, CMS learned of the following purse additions for the Super Stock event! A donation of 75% of tips from an employee’s Thursday night shift at Pub 13 will be donated to Super Stock driver who hauls the longest distance from his/her place of residence. (Amount TBD). In addition, the employee will also donate $50 to the hard charger of the race who advances the farthest through the field from his/her original starting position based on the official posted finish.

Super Stock driver ‘Nitro’ Nick Gibson announced he will donate an extra $30 to main event finishing positions 12, 14, 16, and 18, courtesy of his business, Nitro Nick’s Sweet Meats and G1 Racing. Nick will also donate an extra 5 gallons of race fuel to the official last place finisher. In addition, Gibson’s sponsor, Rockin’ A Distillery of Creighton, Missouri, has added an additional $10 to finishing positions 18 through 24, plus an additional $5 for the longest overall haul to the driver travelling the longest distance. In addition, track photographer Joshua Allee Photography will add an additional $100 for the longest haul from out of state plus another $100 for the longest haul for any driver from Missouri."

This weekend’s special event admissions are as follows: Adult $20, Seniors Ages 65 to 74 $15, Active-Duty Military w/I.D. $15, Student w/I.D. $15, Kids Ages 6 to 12 $6, Children 5 and under Free, Senior Citizens Ages 75 and Up Free. All pit passes are $40, regardless of age. There are no entry fees for B-Mod, Pure Stock, or Midwest Mods competitors. Super Stock entries fees are mentioned above.
