Terbo finishes third with LOLMDS at Huset's Speedway
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) got an early start to the busy race week with a trip to the renowned Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.) on Tuesday with Tyler Erb and 18 competitors on hand for the $10,000-to-win opener. (Heath Lawson photos)
With a heat race victory placing him on the front row for the A-Main, Tyler led laps 1-12 before ultimately fading to third when the checkered flag flew. He followed Tim McCreadie and Mike Marlar across the line.
On Thursday as the Silver Dollar Nationals weekend kicked off at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) with the Dirt Track Bank Go 50, Erb used a provisional into the main event after retiring on the fourth circuit of his heat race. Rolling off on the 13th row, Tyler gained seven spots in the 50-lap affair to finish 18th.
With passing points in two rounds of heat races on Friday setting the grid for Saturday’s main event, Tyler came in 11th in the first round before passing three cars in his second heat to pick up the win.
Transferring into a B-Main, Erb edged his way into the $53,000-to-win Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals finale with the third-and-final transfer spot.
Rolling off on the 14th row for the feature delayed to Sunday, Tyler gained three positions in the 80-lapper to finish 24th.
Tyler is currently fifth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
