Fifth-place finish with Southern Nationals at Toccoa

Drawing 24 cars for the sixth round of the 12-race miniseries, Knight’s eighth-place finish in his heat race pinned him on the 11th row for the $10,053-to-win A-Main. Running into trouble early, Cla pulled off on lap 14.

With Sunday’s event at Swainsboro Raceway (Swainsboro, Ga.) cancelled by Mother Nature, Cla returned to action on Tuesday afternoon with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals at Toccoa Raceway (Toccoa, Ga.). Following the third-fastest time in his group, Knight secured his spot into the main event with a heat race win. With $10,067 on the line, Cla rebounded after a late-race flat tire to finish fifth. He followed Brandon Overton, Kenny Collins, Parker Martin, and Cory Hedgecock across the line in the 67-lapper.
